A NEW PRODUCTION MARKING AND LABELLING SYSTEM

On 29^th of April, 2005 the new production marking and labelling system was implemented in conformity with European standards and requirements (EN 1856-1:2003, EN 1856-2:2004, EN 1443:2003). This marking and labelling system identifies chimney technical characteristics, for example pressure, acid resistance classes, designation of the distance of the outer surface of the chimney to combustible material and etc. Our customer is provided with comprehensive information about purchased product, it’s exploitation possibilities.

Example of double wall chimney section marking:

Description:

EN 1856-1:2003 – standard item accords;

T600 (T450) – temperature class for double wall chimney (single wall liner);

N1 – pressure class;

W – condensate resistance class for chimneys operating under wet conditions;

Vm – corrosion resistance (declare according flue liner material type and thickness);

L40060 – material type and thickness. Specification should be indicated by letter L followed by five digits. The first two digits represent the material type and the last three digits represent the material thickness in multiples of the unit 0,01 mm;

G – Soot fire resistance class for chimney;

130 (250) – required safety distance (mm) between the outer surface of the double wall chimney (single wall liner) and combustible materials and constructions.

Example of chimney marking plate:

Chimney plate table must contain the following chimney information:

1. product designation or brand – engraved or indelibly marked;
2. product appropriate designation according to standard EN 1443:2003 requirements;
3. nominal diameter;
4. minimum distance to combustible materials with arrow and fire symbol.

When packing produced chimneys, "Vilpra" fills out and provides each buyer with the entire accompanying production documentation (certificates of the quality of the materials used in manufacturing, EC declaration, chimney elements installation and operation instructions).

In compliance with the requirements of standard EN 1856-1:2003, chimney marking plate must be fastened in a well visible area of each chimney after the chimney mounting is completed.
